The DB Schenker logo has appeared on the EWS website: http://www.ews-railway.co.uk/

Also... keep an eye out for 60040.

Do I guess she's been so-branded, or, preferably, repainted into Verkehrsrot [Trafficred] livery?

Would be nice, but, given that the 'Railion' branding is dying-out, ie. all the newest electrics simply say 'DB' on, and 'DB-Railion' has become 'DB-Schenker', I highly doubt it!

Well...they said they'd be keeping the original name/livery/management, but they also said this about EWS! However, I doubt the CR name/livery will change soon, although I wouldn't mind seeing a 168 saying
'DB Regio:
ChilternRailways'
on it; I'm sure it'd look good on a 168

Moving-on slightly, with the impending privatisation of DB will we, I wonder, see the english parts of the business being re-bought-out by english companies, eg. First/National Express/Govia?

I am sure they will be chomping at the bit to get in there.

Hope it doesn't destroy the very good German rail system.

I have my reservations based on experiences from over here, but, in general, the partial-privatisation that already exists, ie. small groups of DMU-operated branch-lines transfered to newly-formed railway companies, seem to be doing alright.

My only disaproval is that Bremen's new 'S-Bahn' system is the first in the country to be operated by a private non-DB organisation, in this case it's NordWestBahn, who intend to replace 4-car double decker-operated push-pull services powered by ever-reliable E143/146 electrics, with 3-car Bombardier/Talbot 'TaLeNT' DMUs...the nearest we've ever seen to this is when VXC replaced 7-car HSTs with 4-car 'Voyagers', although I'm sure NWB will actually have more complaints even than VXC did!

I'd say more EWS without the yellow, though it might be an advertising only...
