Today (1/2/10) a pair of DRS 20s dragged 90006 and some Mk3 stock from Crown Point to Bounds Green. Electric traction are barred from the NLL at the moment due to engineering work hence the requirement for 90006 to be dragged.

It is rumoured that the 90 and stock is to be used for driver training. This coincides with a further rumour that a MK3 DVT 82133 is to be outshopped from Wolverton Works in 'East Coast' colours.

Maybe, just maybe a class 90 resurgence is going to happen after all. What would be interesting if 90006 is deployed to working a train for EC in the event of a 91 failure...............

Yes that is a good point 'Redcow' and one thought that I had when I heard the news. But the outshopping of 82133 in East Coast colours would paint matters into a different light (- watch this space....

Also, they sent a 90 & stock to Ilford on Friday afternoon at around 15:00hrs for the usual weekly tyre turning trip and that was not undertaken by 90006......Interesting nonetheless.

EC are definitely taking the 180s. I'm not aware of any move to take 90s. It's an all 125mph service....

These are all personal opinions

Dont even go there! yesterday we had load 9 on the 06.40 with no labelled quiet coach, no seat reservations, no catering vehicle, no 1st class service, no heat in C or F, full & standing from Manningtree & to top it all 90021 in FSR livery in charge. This is one of our so called 'Golden' trains.

Thought it was only last year that 4 of the MK3s originally allocated to NXEC were going to be returned to service to supplement the existing NXEA fleet.
